Tana Turney (left) of Cherokee recently received the Valerie Colvin Graduate Scholarship from the Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. She received the $400 award from Dr. Trey Cone, chair of the OAHPERD Scholarship Committee. Turney received her Bachelor's of Science degree in health and physical education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She is currently working on her Master's of Education degree with an emphasis in health and physical education at SWOSU, where she will graduate in May 2011.
