Echoes from the Hill

Abstract

From the President

Dear Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) alumni, emeriti, & friends –

I hope that this issue of Echoes From The Hill finds you and yours well. Here on the SWOSU Hilltop our students and faculty are engaged in Summer Semester coursework and our dedicated staff are preparing for the Fall Semester which begins in August.

We are so proud of our Distinguished Alumnae, Dr. Henrietta Mann, who, among many other honors, recently received the National Humanities Medal in a special White House ceremony. You can learn about the ongoing work of this incredible academician and leader in the pages of this issue of Echoes. These pages also shine a spotlight on special SWOSU events like the 2023 North Family Lecture (featuring SWOSU alumnus Micah Booze) held at Crowder Lake University Park and the 2023 Hunter Lecture in Psychology held at Yukon Public Schools which facilitated continuing education for over 100 mental healthcare professionals from the world-renowned Beck Institute. This edition of the magazine will introduce you to the newest inductees into the SWOSU Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame (our institution’s highest honor) and you’ll also read about the recordbreaking $1.1 million in scholarships provided from SWOSU’s donors like you.

For your investment, your involvement, and your input, we thank you. Keep close, keep in touch, and GO DAWGS!

In SWOSU,

Diana R. “Diane” Lovell, PhD
President, Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU)
