Echoes from the Hill

Abstract

From The Interim President

Fellow members of the SWOSU Community,

I have been grateful for the opportunity to serve Southwestern Oklahoma State University for nearly three decades. As the Spring 2026 semester gets underway, we welcome the opportunity to pause and reflect on what we have learned—and what we continue to achieve together.

The bonds formed among our students, faculty, and staff as we deliver high quality, affordable programs of instruction and training are deep and enduring. The Southwestern Spirit—marked by friendly cooperation, thoughtful inquiry, and hard work—gives SWOSU a distinctive strength and instills in our graduates a lasting sense of purpose.

Here on the Hilltop, we are committed to keeping alumni of all generations connected to the university and engaged in its ongoing mission. This edition of Echoes—our alumni and friends magazine for more than 60 years—is one way we do just that. We encourage you to visit www.SWOSUAlumni.com to learn more about opportunities to stay involved. And when you are next in Weatherford, we hope you will take time to return to our campus for a visit.

In SWOSU,
Joel Kendall, PhD
Interim President
Southwestern Oklahoma State University
