KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. – ASTP Commander Thomas Stafford is suited for a test of the Apollo spacecraft that will carry Stafford, Donald Slayton and Vance Brand into Earth orbit to rendezvous and dock with a manned Soyuz spacecraft in the first international manned space mission, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Stafford, Slayton, and Brand entered the spacecraft in a KSC altitude chamber for tests of the spacecraft systems at simulated altitudes up to 200,000 feet at noon today. The ASTP launch is scheduled at 3:50 p.m. July 15.
