Abstract
Service-learning is an educational approach that combines classroom instruction with hands-on community service, intentionally linking academic learning with real-world application to meet both student developmental goals and community needs, all through structured reflection. In 2004, Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) joined the Campus Compact coalition, a partnership of over 1,000 colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education.
