Abstract

Cheyenne Chief Harvey Pratt, a forensic artist for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, discusses the 138th anniversary of the November 27, 1868 attack at the Washita Battlefield near Cheyenne during a special panel discussion recently on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford. Listening is Dr. Henrietta Mann, interim president of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribal College on the SWOSU campus. A full audience listened to various perspectives of the attack’s meanings, impacts and legacies that followed the attack. Other speakers were historian Jerome A. Greene and Cheyenne Peace Chief Lawrence Hart.
