Description

Southwestern Oklahoma State University students Whit Pyron (left) of Arapaho and Joe Patterson of Mountain View were awarded the 2008 SWOSU College of Professional and Graduate Studies scholarships for the Parks and Recreation Management Department on the Weatherford campus. Pyron is a senior majoring in PRM, minoring in wildland fire management. He is currently employed at the Washita National Wildlife Refuge. Pyron also works with the Weatherford Bureau of Indian Affairs Wildland Fire Unit as a wildland firefighter. Patterson is also a senior majoring in PRM, minoring in wildland fire management. Patterson, originally from Wellington (TX), is a self-employed farmer/rancher in the Mountain View area.
