Description
Kelly Parker (second from right) won first place in the recent Westview Writers' Festival Creative Writing Contest held on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford. Other winners and judges were (from left): Keisha Sandusky, honorable mention; Michele Charles, honorable mention; visiting poet Dr. Matthew Brennan of Indiana State University; Dr. Kevin Collins, managing editor, Westview; and Dr. Jim Silver, editor, Westview. At the festival, Brennan gave a reading and then 16 members of the SWOSU and area communities took part in an open-mike reading of their original works of poetry and prose.
