Dr. Vicki Hatton (left), chair of the SWOSU Kinesiology Department in Weatherford, was recently presented the 2009 Virginia Peters Higher Education Professional of the Year Award. The award was presented at the Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (OAHPERD) state conference. The award is given to an academic professional who has influenced students and the profession at the higher education level. Dr. Hatton is the second recipient of the award. The award was presented at the annual OAHPERD convention held in October. Making the presentation is Jerel Cowan, president-elect of the OAHPERD.
