Pioneer Cellular General Manager Richard Ruhl and Regional University System of Oklahoma Chair Richard Ogden (center) cut the ribbon at a ceremony held March 24 at the new Pioneer Cellular Event Center on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. A large crowd was on hand including (next to Ruhl) RUSO Regents Lake Carpenter of Elk City and Connie Reilly of Okemah as well as (next to Ogden) SWOSU President Randy Beutler and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Chair Jimmy Harrel. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the first major concert event that is planned next week in the center on Thursday, April 3, when comedian Bill Cosby performs at 8 p.m. as part of the SWOSU Panorama Series.
