Seven Southwestern Oklahoma State University students in Weatherford recently received a NASA STEM Award to mentor eighth grade girls at the recent Tech Trek camp held on the SWOSU campus in Weatherford. Receiving awards were (third from left): Ashley Young, Arapaho; Katrina Wichert, Weatherford (Corn Bible Academy); Jordyn Richey, Elk City (Merritt); Terin Brownen, Weatherford; Ryan Voth, Kremlin-Hillsdale; Kelley Watkins, Enid (Oklahoma Bible Academy); and Suzanne Parker, Amber-Pocasset. Making the presentations were SWOSU faculty (from left): Cindi Albrightson, Madeline Baugher and (right) Lori Gwyn. Tech Trek is a camp concentrated on providing campers with many mentors in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to encourage the girls to continue pursuing careers in these fields.
