Weatherford: 1898-1998 details the colorful history of a dynamic city whose future is even brighter than its past. It is the work of a dozen residents of the city who devoted two years of their time to research and writing. Dozens more local citizens sat for interviews and contributed photographs. The result has been blended into a vibrant chronicle illustrated with more than 200 photographs which will be a treasure for present and future generations.

The end of the academic year 1953-1954 marked the completion of fifty years of institutional life for Southwestern State College. This study is an attempt to tell, and in some ways to interpret, how this college developed and to indicate its significance and role in shaping the knowledge, attitudes, and culture of those with whom it had contact.
