CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Stafford, former astronaut and Air Force test pilot, stands near the Astrovan and space shuttle Atlantis inside the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
