Voices of Western Oklahoma: Oral History Project
Voices of Western Oklahoma: An Oral History Project is a series of interviews with local citizens sharing their life experiences as a citizen of our democracy. Al Harris Library Director, Jason Dupree, sought citizens to share local stories about democracy as part of the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America, a traveling Smithsonian exhibition. Interviews will become a part of this exhibit and preserved for future generations within the Stafford Archives at the Al Harris Library (SWOSU). For more information about this traveling exhibit, please visit the website: https://museumonmainstreet.org/VoicesVotes.
Many of the interviews were conducted in partnership with local public libraries within the Western Plains Library System. The Al Harris Library appreciates Tim Miller, Executive Director, and Conner Kirk, Director of Customer Experience, of the Western Plains Library System for supporting this project and assisting with its publicity.
