Abstract

Last year in this space I expressed the hope that Mythcon will develop into a general fantasy convention, functioning as a focal point for the growing interest in fantasy, myth,-and imaginative literature. There is one way in which we are moving towards the further realization of this. This year we are initiating The Mythopoeic Fantasy Award. The plans are to make this a yearly award given for the best work of fantasy that was published in America for the first time the preceding year.
