Docking in Space: This artist's concept depicts the American Apollo spacecraft and the Soyuz spacecraft nearing one another in preparation for docking together and spending two days in docked operations this July. One of the major objectives of the joint Apollo Soyuz Test project mission is the inflight testing of a jointly-designed international docking mechanism.
