SPACE RENDEZVOUS: Gemini 6 maneuvered to within a few feet of Gemini 7 to accomplish the world’s first rendezvous in space on December 15, 1965. This photograph showing Gemini 7 was taken through the hatch window of Gemini 6 during the rendezvous and station keeping, which lasted about five and a half hours at an altitude of 160 miles.
