CAPE KENNEDY, FLA. – Astronauts Walter M. Schirra, Jr., (left background), command pilot, and Thomas P. Stafford, pilot, look over their Gemini 6 spacecraft on board the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini 6 spacecraft splashed down twelve miles from the carrier in the Western Atlantic recovery area at 10:29 a.m., (EST) today, December 16, 1965. After a highly successful 25 hour 52 minutes mission in space. The Gemini 6 spacecraft rendezvoused with the Gemini 7 spacecraft.
