CAPE KENNEDY, FLA. – Astronaut Thomas P. Stafford, pilot of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini 6 space flight, relaxes aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp while talking with his family at Houston, Texas, via radio-telephone. The Gemini 6 spacecraft splashed down about 12 miles from the Wasp in the western Atlantic recovery area at 10:29 a.m., (EST) today, December 16, 1965. After a highly successful 25 hour 52 minutes mission in space. Astronaut Walter M. Schirra, Jr., is the Gemini 6 command pilot.
