APOLLO 10 PRE-LAUNCH VIEW --- Astronaut Thomas P. Stafford, Apollo 10 commander, poses with a replica of Snoopy during a break in training at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The scene is backdropped against a map of the lunar surface. Apollo 10, to be launched on May 18, 1969, is the last stepping stone to the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission, scheduled for mid-summer. Astronauts Stafford, John W. Young and Eugene A. Cernan are scheduled to orbit the Moon and re hearse a separation of spacecraft and partial descent with the Lunar Module (LM).
