CAPE KENNEDY, Fla. – The Gemini 6 spacecraft is gently lowered onto the dolly aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp during recovery operations following the highly successful 25 hour 25 min. rendezvous mission in space. Astronauts Walter M. Schirra, Jr., command pilot, and Thomas P. Stafford, pilot, are still inside the spacecraft. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini 6 spacecraft splashed down about 12 miles form the carrier in the western Atlantic recovery area at 10:29 a.m., (EST) today, December 16, 1965.
