Gemini VI Recovery – Astronaut Thomas P. Stafford, pilot of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Gemini VI space flight, is seen at mealtime aboard the aircraft carrier USS Wasp. Only hours before, he and Astronaut Walter M. Schirra Jr., command pilot, splashed down in Gemini VI about 12 miles from the carrier to conclude their 25 hr. 52 min. mission in space.
